Western Cape SCO

Still Believe Women Can't Lead? Well...think again...

My name is Tshepo Leabile , from a small village

called Drieloop, which is in a small town called Kuruman

at the Northern Cape Province.I love God so much.

I am from a big family of nine children (“Be fruitful and multiply,

and fill the earth”, Gen 1:22). My father passed away in the

year 2005, after a month of being sick.

It was hard to believe and accept my father’s passing – but

God is a comforter, He wiped my tears away. I have my

mom, brothers and sisters who are very dear to me.

I came to Cape Town to study Information Technology and focused on the software development stream at Cape Peninsula University of Technology – Bellville Campus. I completed my National Diploma in 2006 and enrolled for my 2 year B-Tech part time last year and could not continue last year due to circumstances that were beyond my control (Eccl 3: 1). I am currently working in the IT Sector as a diplomat of Christ.

I came to know the Lord as my Saviour in the year 2004 in SCO. I thank God for the gift of a momentous life in its fullness. I then was made complete in Christ (Col 2:10). There are so many things I am thankful to God for, He is everything in my life.

SCO is a student’s ministry I came to love and have passion for. Being involved in SCO leadership has equipped and taught me many things that helped me grow spiritually. I was recently challenged so mightily; I can say was in a valley of dry bones. During that time I heard a loud sound of confusion, doubt, I wanted to quit but hey, my situation brought me light at the end of the tunnel. I understood that the fight is not mine but the Lord’s. I thank God for the challenge I went through because it brought me closer to Him than probably what it was intended to – just like an eagle… the stronger the storm, the higher it flies.

Below is SCO Bellville Campus Executive for 2008/9 elected by SCO Bellville Campus appointed by God. This is a group of vibrant young people, who understand that “the harvest is vast, but the workers are few” (Luke 10: 2). They are willing and have vowed to feed God’s flock.

Who shall ascend in to the hill of the Lord? Or who shall stand in his Holy place? He that hath clean hands and pure a heart, who hath not lifted up his soul unto vanity nor sworn deceitfully. (Psalms 24: 3 – 4).
