STEM: Short.Term.Experience.in Ministry

“It was worth every moment of it, because it is service to the Lord and it was a good training for the ministry and beyond.” Bulelani 'Buja' Dyonase

This year the Western Cape Province has been

blessed by a STEMer, Bulelani Dyonase. A handsome

man who is energetic and vibrant for the glory of God.

Bulelani shared with us his experience as a STEMer.

After undergoing the application and selection process,

the STEMers (Nationally) went through an extensive

hree weeks training at Wellington, Cape Town. The

training contained a variety of topics, facilitated by

some of the senior SCO staff members and other invited

guests.

The presentations were informative, challenging,

mind opening, equipping and helpful in preparing one

for the upcoming journey. Facilitators were friendly, active

and communicating the message well. They were

passionate about what they do, one could see from their

smile. Among the trainees it was fun, and co-operative.

It was worth every moment of it, because it is service to the

Lord and it was a good training for the ministry and beyond,

equipping you to be independent and to train other

leaders.”, he added.

Bulelani ‘Buja’ as he’s passionately called, was assigned to CPUT– Bellville campus. Working along side Noah Tenai ‘Mr T ’, a staff worker. He commenced his duties on the 06th of Feb 2009, and his presence has been visible and felt within the branch. Part of his responsibilities are to serve as a ‘screensaver’ by being always there when the need arises. He will also train the young leaders, provide training for sub-ministries, providing resources, sharing ideas, assisting the executives with some decision making and basically mentoring the executive. One of the challenges he’s currently facing is recognition and being used, currently he feels he’s being under utilised. We bless God for people like him who are prepared, ready and available!

He highlights: “Its been very interesting how students have welcomed me and willing to co-operate. They are full of energy and zealous to the work of the ministry” he says.

About what’s happening at the branch, things have been kicking and God is at work. One of the executive members, Sandiswa ‘Sindi’ Zigana is also serving in the SRC as community development and projects officer. They’ve already been engaging in All Night Prayers, which is a good start to clear the atmosphere and start the year with.

We need prayerful people who will move with the move of God.

On the week of the 16-20th Feb. the branch had a Gospel presentation (open air) during lunch time and there’s been an interesting response, a number of students came to accept Christ. This also serves as an encouragement to other branches as well ‘Buja’ encourages more creativity in order to win more souls.

His desire is to see more students joining STEM and also be full time staff members

Anyone who wants to join STEM, please apply before August through SCO National office, you can also consult Bulelani (bulelani@sco.org.za) or Mr Tenai (ktenai@gmail.com), or else find more information through your executive/BOC members. Thumbs up for STEM!!!
