Mission Statement
We (SCO) seek to develop Christian groups in schools which will reach to other learners with the gospel and disciples them holistically (that is spiritually, psychologically, academically, physically and socially).

Mr Sipho Tamte (WCape) is the current Schools National Chairperson.
The provincial schools delegates (map above) are Associate's volunteers, mostly teachers that are directly involved with SCO groups in their schools.
Others are associates who serve in the following:
MentorsTo represent Staff on the regional/provincial schools committeeTo disseminate information from National/ Provincial office and Staff to the learners via the schools committee and the branch committeesPromote among learners regional, provincial and national events organized by SCOSCO Schools Staff Workers & Associate Schools Provincial Reps

Our areas of responsibility as Staff are:
Discipleship
1.To initiate and develop discipling relationships with individual learners.
2.To work closely with learners' committees in a mentoring role.
3.To offer counsel to learners as and when necessary.
4.To encourage the learners to pray, study the scriptures and share their faith.
5.To encourage learners in their school studies and inculcate a culture of learning.
Leadership
To plan and run training sessions on various aspects such as Bible study, Evangelism, Small group ministry, and contemporary issues such as HIV/Aids, etcTo organise and facilitate an annual Leadership Training Camp for all the committees in the different branches.To help learners establish and develop healthy SCO branches in the region/province.To encourage learners to participate in the different activities taking place in their school life such as sport, recreation and Student Governance.Train teachers on how to lead/oversee the branch.Train all the TISVOT reps available in the region/province.The VOLUNTEER PROGRAM: Do you want to volunteer with SCO in schools section?
Volunteers options:
1. TISVOT (Tertiary Institution Students Volunteer Team)
These are SCO tertiary students who are tutoring high school learners in their academic work.
They mostly offer their services on Saturdays. They help learners with their school work in
different subjects i.e. English, Accounting, Maths and Science and Games
2. SCO GROUPS IN SCHOOLS
a.Assist SCO groups in schools at least twice a week.
To strengthen their leadership (SCO committee members), help them to plan their weekly meetings/ services and run small group Bible studies during break time twice a week.
b.Assist us in running Life Skills program under the Life Orientation curriculum during their so called career guidance period.
NB:It is very important that you consult the national office, or the SCO staff worker or the regional/ provincial representative in your area/ province. There are volunteers training workshops that you’ll have to undergo as a volunteer.
