Two thousand and nine is now in almost in our rear view mirror!

That’s how it seems with all that is happening, has happened and

is planned to happen. I believe God has a place and purpose for the SCO

for such a time as this! I would like to wish you everyone a blest year ahead

with peace, grace and mercy to do continue serving our Lord Jesus Christ.

We start off in the Western Cape the task of realising objectives that have been laid out in a strategic plan by the Provincial committee, namely: fulfilling SCO ’ s aims in Schools and Tertiary through SCO staff, associates, volunteers, educators, learners, students, friends and churches.

There are 4 aims that we are driving at:

To share the love of Jesus Christ with students and lead them to a personal faith in God – Father, Son and Holy Spirit, according to the Holy Bible. To nurture students into a deep, trans- forming relationship with God which will profoundly change the way they think, live and relate to others and equip them for a life of service. To urge students to commit themselves to the extension of God’s kingdom throughout the world by evangelistic witness, by responding with compassion to the needs of society, by working for peace, righteousness and justice. To be involved actively in issues facing students in their respective institutions.

God willing our targets for 2009 are to:

Appoint 2 additional staff. Appoint 6 additional volunteers. Improve SCO funding to meet our provincial financial obligations.Re-establish branches at Stellenbosch & UCT Establish branches at least 4 FET ’ s Campuses.Establish branches at least 10 new schools Have Teachers Committees at all Metro divisions for Schools. Have a functioning Associates Fellowship Establish contact and branches in other Western Cape Regions besides Cape Town. Have 5 STEM candidates for 2010.

This year we also look forward to harnessing the potential of the SCO Associates and Churches who are vital to the SCO playing an effective role.

The 2009 SCO provincial committee are: Michael Musyoki (Chair), Gideon Ombima (Secretary General), Sabelo Mthethwa (Treasurer), Noah Tenai (SCO Staff), Xolani Mgolombane (Teacher ’s Rep), Xolelwa “ Sxosh ” Mdleleni (Associates Chairperson), Ncebakazi Galada (Media & Publicity), Tshepo Leabile (Student Reps).

We believe our Lord’s grace and love is sufficient fuel to drive us towards our goals. Please join in this eternal-value agenda in whatever way the Lord may enable you, but above all through your prayers as we pray for you too.

Together for Christ,

Michael Musyoki

SCO WC Provincial Chairperson
